The Deltic Basher

The Deltic Basher started life as a vivid, nostalgic musical audio drama,that sweeps you into the strange and dreamlike world of 1970s Britain through the eyes of young Edgar Gammidge. Growing up on Tunnel Road in Retford with his overbearing mother and eccentric Uncle Earnest, Edgar’s childhood is anything but ordinary. Haunted by night terrors as a small boy, he finds unexpected comfort in a mysterious, otherworldly sound drifting through the darkness—only to later discover it’s the thunderous roar of Deltic locomotives hauling night trains racing along the nearby East Coast Main Line. What begins as a source of solace soon ignites a lifelong obsession, as Edgar becomes captivated by these powerful, almost mythical machines. Blending warmth, humour, and surreal charm, the story explores memory, imagination, and the formative passions that shape who we become.

    Now "The Deltic Basher " has become the home to various silly films often featuring our "house band" Concrete Bathroom Mk3 who we hope will be the best classic hard rock band that you've never heard of.. Not to forget a very naughty alien called Zontar!
